Shawn ‘Unikue’ Jefferson, lead vocalist of Washington DC’s Eastern Standard Time, has been professionally performing and recording internationally for three decades. His work spans the genres of ska, reggae, funk, soul, jazz, gospel and Hip-hop, with groups including The 8Ohms Band, The Beggas, and Soul Element. He has extensive Marketing and Public Relations experience. His professional background includes print, web, mobile, photography, and audio/video production. Unikue has worked with a wide range of clientele, from Federal agencies, government contractors and non-profit organizations, to small businesses and large corporations, including Discovery Communications, Goodwill of Greater Washington, and the US House of Representatives.

Unikue is a visual artist. He enjoys painting with acrylic on canvas among other media and has an affinity for portraiture. He is also an accomplished martial artist, having earned a second degree black belt in Shaolin Kung fu. A native of North Carolina, he spent much of his life in the Mid-Atlantic region in Maryland, New York and Washington, DC. He presently resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
